What an amazing experience. I have only been entering print competition at this level for a short time. I never imagined I would attain this kind of recognition. Standing alongside my peers and receiving this honor, I am humbled.

Morgantown, West Virginia: Shari Brownlee CPP, of Brownlee’s Portrait Cottage in Claysville, Pa was named Professional Photographer of West Virginia’s Photographer of the year during PPWV’s annual 2018 Spring Convention. Brownlee’s creations were on display as well as many other photographers during the yearly event.
A panel of 7 judges from West Virginia and neighboring states selected the top photographs from nearly 200 entries at the Lakeview Resort and Spa in Morgantown. Judged against a standard of excellence, 91 images were blue ribbon images scoring 80 or above.
The award is determined by the best cumulative score of the entrant’s 4 highest scoring images. Brownlee was named Photographer of the Year since her four highest scoring images had the highest combined total.
The Professional Photographers of West Virginia is a non-profit association that has been in existence for over 75 years, with a goal to provide top quality educational opportunities, vital networking and positive public awareness regarding the photographic industry.
Brownlee’s Portrait Cottage: has been a leader in the Fine Art Portrait community for the past 20 years. Shari has created heirloom pieces for families, babies, children and high school seniors. She continues to refine her craft, continues her education annually and is only 7 merits away from acquiring her Masters degree through PPA (Professional Photographers of America).
