Thank you for your interest in Studio M Photographic!
Please feel free to call us at 724.745.4405 with any questions you may have and that are not addressed here. As much as we love email, we would much rather talk to you in person. If that is not possible, you are welcome to email us at email@example.com
Where is Studio M Photographic located?
Our Studio is located at 206 Alexander Avenue, Strabane, PA 15363 - we are right off of exit 43 on I-79. We are minutes from Sarris Candies and the Southpointe area. We ARE about 20 minutes south of the city of Pittsburgh.
What are your hours?
Our hours vary throughout the year, however we are in the studio Monday through Friday. Please call before you come out to pick up portraits so you are sure we are here to help you.
Can I schedule an appointment after regular hours or on the weekend?
We realize that life is busy and that missing school/work is of concern to some people. A professional portrait session is not something most people do often and most make an exception and take the day to really get ready and enjoy! If that is not possible for you, we are willing to schedule a limited number of portrait and ordering sessions outside of regular studio hours. However, since these after hours sessions do cut into our valuable family time, there are additional fees involved.
What do I need to schedule an appointment?
In order to schedule an appointment, Studio M needs to hear from you with all the information necessary for your session. In addition to this, we need your session fee in order to schedule your session into our system. You can do that with a Visa or Mastercard. We cannot reserve sessions without a guarantee.
Can I reschedule?
You can reschedule your session at Studio M, however, you must reschedule within 5 working days in order for your session fee to follow you. We understand that things can come up, just please keep in mind that the shorter the notice, the more difficult it might be to find the time that is convenient for you. Exceptions can be made for extreme situations... We understand that life happens and sometimes things are out of our control.
What is your cancellation policy?
In the event you need to cancel your appointment, we require a 10 working day notice in order for you to receive a refund. With a 10 day notice, your entire session fee, with the exception of a $25 processing fee will be refunded.
As for orders, due to the custom nature of our portrait work, please understand that once an order is placed, should a cancellation be requested (a cancellation must be requested within 24 hours), a 10% processing fee will be charged for credit card fees and our time in processing your order.
How much will I be spending?
Session fees begin at $75 and range depending on the type of session you are interested in. We love to work with our clients and help them order what suits them best. As far as the cost of the artwork what you spend depends on the type of portraits created. Sales averages range greatly, however, most clients tend to spend somewhere between $500- $1500. Some spend a lot less and others a lot more ...what you order and spend is, of course, completely up to you.
What about hair, make-up and glasses?
Make sure to have haircuts/color and perms at least a week before your session. Avoid new hairstyles right before portraits. Make-up should be worn as you like. Many clients opt to have their hair and make-up professionally done before a session, however that is not necessary. Glasses - should you choose to wear glasses, please understand that it may be impossible to avoid glass glare. There is an additional fee to remove glare as it is not part of our normal retouching.
How long will a portrait session last?
The length of a session greatly depends on the type of session as well as the number of people in your session! We can discuss this on the phone and give you a better indication once we know about your specific session! We can tell you, however, that Maria does not like to rush her clients and her sessions. We usually schedule more than enough time for all our sessions.
What if it is cloudy or rainy?
Clouds can make amazing images when the skyline is visible... they also provide a softer light which keeps you from squinting. Clouds are good! Showers come and go quickly, so if it looks like rain, feel free to call before you leave and we can decide what to do at that point. We have often photographed in light rain and the images are beautiful ...every lighting situation provides us with GREAT opportunities to create amazing images! Some very unique images, especially with seniors, can be created in crazy weather like rain and snow!
How do I view my images?
When you come in for your sales session, your portraits will be projected onto a large movie screen and you will get to view them the first time in a beautiful slideshow. We will project your portraits individually as well, in a range of actual sizes so that you can understand proper cropping and be given many ideas on how to display them. We will be there to help guide you every step of the way, to ensure you are making great choices and offer our professional opinion. We will help you to compile your order and finalize everything with you so that you can get exactly what you want.
Can I get Digital Files?
Studio M offers Web sized digital files with every image you purchase. Once your images are fully retouched and the artwork is done, we create these shareable files for you. We want you to share your images and these are perfect for e-mail, Facebook, Instagram - your iphone, ipad and any other social media. Studio M also offers shows set against music on USB with certain package orders - these come as MP4’s files. Studio M however, does hold all rights to the images created. The only type of digital files we do not offer are ones in high resolution format as we hold copyright and want to ensure all artwork is created on beautiful material and displayed for you to enjoy for years to come.
Will my portraits be retouched?
All portraits are retouched and enhanced. Artwork is done to each and every image that is ordered - removal of blemishes, cuts, bruises, sharpening the eyes and softening the skin, color enhancements and more is all part of our normal retouching. Extensive retouching, such as removing braces, glare, clothing straps, etc, can be done for an additional fee.
At Studio M, we want you to love and cherish your portraits forever! All of our portraits come with a 100% guarantee! Please let us know if there is anything you are unhappy with. We always aim for perfection and appreciate your feedback.
How long do you keep my images?
This really depends on the type of session you had. Generally speaking, once you order, we keep your images for approximately one year. To ensure you get all the images you want, we recommend you order everything at your viewing and order appointment.
Do you have a referral program?
Our greatest compliment is to see you again, next to that is a referral! Yes! We always thank our clients for referring them by sending them a certificate in the mail. So if you refer someone, make sure they mention your name when they schedule a session.
Can I scan your portraits?
All portraits from Studio M Photographic are copyright protected. It is illegal to scan, copy or reproduce the portraits without the written permission from Studio M Photographic, which means that scanning for electronic purposes is not allowed (Facebook, MySpace, etc). We do offer low-resolution images to our clients for this purpose (email, Facebook, MySpace, etc) and encourage you to share your images with your family and friends!
